Developer's Notes

This is a pretty straightforward randomizer. It took about four hours to code, and I'll be amazed if it saves me that much time over the life of my interest in the game, but it amused me to build.

Squadron slots for each skill level are based on the core rules allocation for campaign length. Airframes are filtered on service life (as given on the cards) versus the campaign year and whether the campaign is Navy, Marine Corps short deck, or Marine Corps large deck:

• Navy: A-6, A-7, E-2C, EA-6B, EA-18G, F-14, F/A-18
• Marine Corps: A/V-8B, F-35
• Marine Corps (large deck): A-6, EA-6B, F/A-18, OV-10

The generator autocalculates the total SO Point adjustment for random pilot selection, airframe costs/refunds, and elite pilot costs.

Include Expansion 1 Pilots/Airframes: These selectors include the new pilots added in Expansion 1: Trident (A-6); Coffee, Maestro, Sticky, and Thumper (F-14); Axe, Bat, Lizgar, Nerve, Taco, and Tooth (F-18C); and Bell, Harp, and Spy (OV-10). Each airframe is included only with its appropriate campaign type(s). Elite pilots (Axe, Bat, Lizgar, Thumper, Trident) have a separate toggle from the other aviators.

Require EW Support: If checked, one of the squadron's Average pilot slots is guaranteed to be filled with an EA-6B or EF-18G (era dependent) crew.

Require AEW Support: If checked, one of the squadron's Average pilot slots is guaranteed to be filled with an E-2C crew.

Aviatrix Option: For campaigns in 1994 or later, this adds a random chance - starting at 1% in 1994, increasing gradually to 8% in the 2010s - for any given pilot to be female. This is solely for narrative purposes.

Suppress Takeoff Checklist: Check this to turn off the F-18 catapult launch checklist that scrolls before loading generator results.

Future Enhancements: Addition of material from the Cthulhu Conflict expansion if I ever acquire it.
